Did I Leave the Stove On? You Left The Stove On! Avoid $250 Late Payment Charge

This communication is being sent to all students. If you have already paid your fall tuition and confirmed that you have a $0.00 balance, maybe give it a quick glance, just in case!

 

Otherwise, please read this communication carefully and in its entirety, and avoid the $250 Late Payment charge!! 

 

The late payment penalty was instituted, not as a revenue stream, but as an incentive to help families pay their tuition on time and focus on preparing for the academic year ahead. 

 

So, even if you think your Fall tuition is "paid-in-full" or "covered" by your financial aid award, or, "your parents just take care of it", wake up, think again, and login RIGHT NOW, again tomorrow, and AGAIN on August 1, 2017!!

 

In our experience, when it comes to deadlines, things change often, quickly and for "no good reason"! 

 

* Step 1 - Login to your Student MAX Account

 

Parents, skip to Step 2. 

 

Students, login to your myMCAD Student Dashboard and click, ‘Launch MAXPay’, to view your tuition balance.

 

Time is running out to invite parents and third party payers to access your student account before the August 1st deadline! It may take up to 24 hours to authorize parent access. Activation requests are processed by the MCAD Records Office, M-F during normal business hours.

 

Quickly fill out a FERPA Form from your myMCAD Student Dashboard and be sure to enter parent/3rd party email addresses carefully and customize the information your invitees may access. Be sure to include ‘Financial Information’ if they will be helping you pay your tuition.

 

Step 2 - Parents, Login to your myMCAD Parent Dashboard

 

Students, skip to step 3.

 

By now, parents should have activated their own user accounts. 

 

Login to your parent dashboard and click your student’s name (located beneath photo box) for a list of navigation options. Click, “'Launch MAX - View & Pay Tuition'. You will be redirected to the MAXPay website.

 

IMPORTANT: If you are receiving this email but you have not yet received account activation instructions from the MCAD Records Office, email Records@mcad.edu immediately. Also, check your spam folder for an email from Records@mcad.edu.

 

 

* Step 3 - Check your Balance & Review Your Charges and Credits Carefully

 

From the MAX Main Page, click 'View Transactions' located next to the, 'Balance Due', to view a detail of charges and credits for the fall 2017 semester.

 

Make sure tuition charges, housing charges, financial aid, health insurance waivers, yada, yada, are accurately reflected in your account balance.

 

Step 4 - Take Care of Business!

 

WAIVE THE Annual MCAD Health Insurance!!!

 

This is the number one reason why students and families incur late payment charges hands down! 

 

YOU MUST WAIVE HEALTH INSURANCE EVERY YEAR!!!

 

WAIVE NOW! 

 

ONLY students enrolled in the BFA/BS, MFA and GDC Post-Bac programs (excludes online Master of Arts and Interactive Design & Marketing Certificate programs) are charged annually for MCAD student health insurance and thus, must complete an online waiver form annually, if they have private health insurance and wish to opt out of purchasing the MCAD plan.

 

Step 5 - Review Your Financial Aid

 

We get it. Financial aid is cray-cray. First you apply. Then you're awarded. Then you accept the awards. Then they want documents. Then there's videos. And quizzes. Promises are made. And you still owe HOW MUCH? What? Rinse. Wash. Repeat.

 

If you are expecting financial aid that is not reflected in your student account balance information, take a moment to sit down and review your financial aid and ensure you have: 1. Accepted your award and 2. submitted all required documents or completed all necessary steps, such as completing Entrance Loan Counseling, signing your Master Promissory Note(s), or submitted 'Thank You' notes for certain scholarship awards.

Parents with access may view student financial aid information from the 'Tools and Information' menu, located on the Student Info page of their myMCAD Parent Dashboard

 

 

* Step 6 - Need More Time to Pay? Enroll in the Payment Plan

 

If you plan to enroll in the Fall 2017-18 Payment Plan, you can access the enrollment link on the MAX main page, located under 'MAXPlan Monthly Installment Agreements. 

 

The cost to enroll is $30 per semester. Your student's tuition balance will be divided into 5, equal monthly installments. The first payment plus enrollment fee is due on or before August 1, 2017 and must be paid at the time of activation.
