After years of intensive art and design theory, practice, hundreds of critiques, and unrelenting focus, you’re ready to launch into the creative workforce. We’re here to assist.
Seniors will participate in one of two events on May 5, based on your major. Preparation for these events, including choosing your display space and receiving career tips from MCAD alumni, begins on Saturday.
Saturday, April 1, Noon–2:00 p.m.
Open to All Majors
Get ready for life after graduation with tips from Bobby Rogers ’14 and Jared Tuttle ’14. Topics include finding work in today's marketplace, preparing yourself and your portfolio for presentation, and networking and informational interviews. Alumni representing all majors will be present.
PLUS reserve your display space for the Emerging Talent Showcase (spaces are first come, first served), or sign up for your visiting artist critique.
EMERGING TALENT SHOWCASE
Friday, May 5, 1:00–4:00 p.m.
Participating Majors and Programs: Design, Entrepreneurial Studies, Media Arts*, MFA, Post-Baccalaureate
Display your work and meet with potential employers, including curators, art directors, art buyers, HR directors, art consultants, interior designers, and other invited guests.
SENIOR VISITING CRITIC DAY
Friday, May 5, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Participating Majors: Fine Arts, Media Arts*
Visiting critics Fo Wilson (artist/designer, educator, and writer from Columbia College Chicago) and Siri Engberg (curator of visual arts at the Walker Art Center) will divide among two groups to critique your senior exhibitions. Lunch and a group discussion takes place at noon.
*Media Arts majors may choose to attend either event.
