Branding, Communications, and Marketing

From a project’s inception to the finished product, MCAD’s Communications team can help you promote, create, and represent your work. Whether it is a personal project or a full-scale campaign for an organization or business, our team ensures that your work will be completed through the media platform of your choice.

The Communications team at MCAD is here to assist community members with their branding, communications, and marketing needs for the college. It is college policy that all marketing and communications materials conform to the brand and editorial style guidelines.

ADVERTISING
The Communications Office works with all college departments to create advertising materials that achieve a variety of objectives. It is college policy that all advertising materials are reviewed by the Communications Office prior to publication. Complete the project request form to start the intake process.

BRANDING
It is college policy that all marketing and communications materials conform to the brand and editorial style guidelines. To find out more about this policy, visit the Brand Resources page.

EMAIL MARKETING
Reach MCAD's external audience through MCAD's Community Newsletter or a dedicated email campaign.  Complete the project request form to start the intake process.

LETTERHEAD
Letterhead and envelopes are available from the business office.

MEDIA RELATIONS
The Communications team works with members of the media (web, TV, radio, and print) to advance the visibility, reputation, and brand identity of the college. Faculty, staff, students, alumni, and partners are encouraged to contact communications@mcad.edu with story ideas and information about events or activities of interest. It is college policy that the Communications Office has managing responsibility for all media relations.

NEWS AND FEATURES
The Web Communications Department regularly publishes stories about the MCAD community on the homepage of mcad.edu. News stories include coverage of exhibitions, awards, publications, and articles by and about members of MCAD's community. Feature stories are longer narratives or Q&As about things and people on and around campus. Submit News for MCAD’s Website

PRINT PROJECTS
MCAD departments have options when considering the production of marketing communications materials: 

  • Hire a freelance designer: Contact the communications director (x1793) for a quick conversation about your project and recommendation of which designer will be a good fit. 
  • Hire DesignWorks: Projects require an absolute minimum of three weeks before your final deadline. Complete the project request form to start the intake process.

PHOTOGRAPHY
To schedule a photographer, please complete the photography request form to start the intake process, or contact communications@mcad.edu for a list of alumni and faculty freelancers to hire.  Photographers are required to provide TIFF files with embedded metadata to the Communications team when working for the college. 

POSTERS
All official campus posters should follow the Editorial Style Guide and use the poster templates provided via the Brand Resources page. 

The triptych (26 x 40”) and kiosks (20 x 30”) are available to publicize campus events. They are available by request for time blocks of 1–3 weeks. The requesting party is responsible for all printing costs and for installing the posters in a professional manner.

SOCIAL MEDIA
Follow MCAD's official accounts on InstagramFacebookTwitter, and Youtube and use #makemcad to connect with the MCAD community. MCAD departments wishing to create their own social media accounts must notify webmaster@mcad.edu.

WEBSITE UPDATES
To add/edit/remove content from mcad.edu, send your request to webmaster@mcad.edu.

XCOMM
XCOMM is an interdepartmental group responsible for the creation and circulation of college-wide communications to MCAD's external audiences. XCOMM holds weekly meetings and regularly invites additional members of MCAD's community to join in order to discover new ways to maximize the group's resources.
