A Commitment to Our Values

Dear MCAD Community,

Like many of you, I share the deep sadness of the countless innocent lives that have been lost in the recent conflict in the Middle East. I’ve been closely following the protests that have gripped numerous college campuses across the country.

Our community is made up of passionate, committed people. MCAD is a community that respects diverse thoughts, opinions, ideas, and concepts. I want to affirm MCAD’s commitment to respect and support those of you who wish to express your opposition to injustices that you see in the world around you.

As we are a community committed to diverse thinking and welcoming people from all walks of life, it is imperative that these expressions are done in ways that are respectful of our college ecology and commitment to learning.

As we head towards the end of the semester, I am so deeply appreciative of the environment and culture we’ve created together. The challenges in the world around us at times seem daunting, yet I take heart in the care and creativity that I see throughout the college. I firmly believe that it is through environments like ours at MCAD that we have the capacity to change the world.

MCAD is committed to community care and support. We need to do what we can to take care of ourselves and each other. I encourage you to reach out to campus resources if needed.

All my best,
