Students who have not paid their tuition will receive a follow-up email in their MCAD email inbox with an outstanding balance total.
If you have not already paid your fall 2019 tuition, this is your final reminder that tuition is due on Thursday, August 1, 2019. Payments processed after August 1st will be assessed the mandatory $250 Late Payment fee.
Please be aware that the tuition balance reflected on MAXPay is updated throughout the business day and may not include all or some of your financial aid, 2019-20 health insurance waivers, or semester credit hours, depending on the information we have received.
Please review the following information carefully and complete the steps before the August 1, 2019 tuition deadline.
Step 1 - Students, Login to MAXPay to View Your Tuition Balance
Parents, skip to Step 3.
Students, login to your myMCAD Student Dashboard and click, 'Launch MAXPay' from the Student Accounts page to view your current tuition balance. This link cannot be used for parent access!
If you have not already done so, please invite parents, third party payers, to access your student account in advance of the August 1, 2019 tuition deadline! It can take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours to authorize parent or 3rd party access, so do not delay!
Activation requests are processed by the MCAD Records Office, M-F during normal business hours.
Complete the FERPA Form from your myMCAD Student Dashboard. Enter parent/3rd party email addresses carefully and select the information you would like to share. HINT: be sure to grant access to view Financial Information if they will be paying tuition.
Step 3 - Parents, Login to your myMCAD Parent Dashboard
Students, skip to Step 4.
For parents who have activated their personal accounts, pease login to the parent myMCAD dashboard and click your student's name, located beneath their photo ID. Click, 'Launch MAX - View and Pay Tuition' under, 'Tools and Information'.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO PARENTS: If you are receiving this email but you have not yet received account activation instructions from the MCAD Records Office, email email@example.com. Also, check your spam folder for an email from firstname.lastname@example.org.
Step 4 - Check your Balance & Review Your Charges and Credits Carefully
Students and parents may view a detailed listing of tuition and fee transactions, payments, and completed financial aid for the fall semester (see below) from the MAXPay Main Page, by clicking 'View Transactions' located under 'Account Information'.
Be sure all tuition charges, housing charges, financial aid, health insurance waivers, etc. are accurately reflected in your account balance.
Steps 5: Waive Health Insurance
Who? Only students enrolled in the BFA/BS, MFA, and Graphic Design Certificate programs will be billed for health insurance.
What? Students enrolled in the above programs are charged annually for school sponsored health insurance and must complete the online waiver form each year if they have private health insurance and wish to opt out of purchasing the 2019-20 MCAD health insurance plan.
When? The Insurance Waiver must be submitted ANNUALLY! If you have your own insurance coverage, you must complete the online waiver form each Fall regardless of whether you have completed a waiver form in a prior year or term.
And? Students enrolled in online-only programs are not eligible to purchase MCAD sponsored health insurance and do not need to submit an insurance waiver.
Step 6 - Review Financial Aid and Complete All Necessary Steps to Receive Your Full Award
For many students this is the most important and often, most overlooked or incomplete step.
If you completed your 2019-20 FAFSA, received a financial aid award letter from the Financial Aid Office and are expecting financial aid that is not reflected in your student account balance, please take a moment to make sure you have:
1. Accepted your award and... 2. Submitted all required documents and completed all necessary steps to ensure your financial aid is ready to disburse on September 4, 2019.
Examples of incomplete or overlooked financial aid steps include: non completion of the Federal Direct Loan Entrance Counseling, unsigned Master Promissory Note(s), non completion of a 2019-20 Federal Parent Plus Loan application or unsigned Master Promissory Note, 'Thank You' notes for institutional scholarships not received.
Check your MCAD email for important, time sensitive communications from the Financial Aid Office for more information on these important action items.

Parents with access may view their student's financial aid status from the 'Tools and Information' menu, located on the Student Info page of their myMCAD Parent Dashboard.
Step 7 - Need More Time to Pay? The Fall 2019 MAXPlan May Be The Ticket
If you would like to enroll in the fall 2019 payment plan (aka MAXPlan), the enrollment link is located on the MAXPay main page, located under 'MAXPlan Monthly Installment Agreements'.
The administrative cost to enroll is $30 per semester and will be included with your first monthly installment, which is due upon enrollment in the fall MAXPlan. Your final tuition balance will be divided into five, equal monthly installments which are calculated at the time of enrollment.
The August MAXPlan installment, plus $30 admin fee is due on or before August 1, 2019 and must be paid when you enroll in the MAXPlan. Subsequent installments will be due on the first of each month, through December 1, 2019.
The Sooner, the Better: By activating your MAXPlan and submitting your first monthly installment before 8/1/2019, your next installment will not be due until 9/1/2019. If you enroll early, you can pay down future monthly installments throughout the summer so you'll always be paid ahead!
Don't delay: Students may still enroll in the MAXPlan after the August 1, 2019 tuition deadline. However, the mandatory $250 late tuition payment charge will be added to the total tuition balance and the MAXPlan will become a four month installment plan. Thus, monthly installments will be significantly higher for students who enroll after August 1st.
Step 8 - Students, expecting an overage refund?
If you are a student who is expecting a financial aid overage refund for the fall 2019 semester, you will need to enroll in eRefund from the main page of your MAXPay account.
Parent accounts cannot enroll in eRefund, per Department of Education guidelines.
Parents expecting a Parent Plus Loan refund will need to coordinate with their student(s) to save their bank account profile in the student's eRefund setup, located on the MAXPay main page.
Students, locate the eRefund enrollment link at the bottom of MAXPay's main page and click the link to complete the enrollment process.
