Job Title: Studio and Programming Administration Intern

Organization Name: Indigo Arts Alliance

Wage/Salary: $1,500 stipend

Opportunity Summary: The Studio and Programming Administration Intern provides support to Indigo Arts Alliance by executing day to day tasks and representing Indigo in a positive manner to the community. Our interns play a valuable role in implementing our programming and utilizing skill sets such as program planning, event set up & breakdown, archive management, and more! They get hands-on learning in nonprofit management and are exposed to a wide range of artists, creative professionals, and project management tools that help fuel an exciting career in the arts. This position is available to currently enrolled students pursuing an undergraduate, or graduate degree as well as recent graduates who graduated within a year of the application period and offers a hybrid internship model (virtual and in-person), dependent on COVID-19 and CDC guidelines.

Web Content Editor Internship

Organization Name: Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture

Wage/Salary: $1-2K/mo

Opportunity Summary: The Web Content Intern will work with NMAAHC staff, fellow interns and others to edit, design and evaluate content on the museum's Drupal website. In addition, they will assist with the implementation of a lively editorial calendar of future web content. The intern will have the opportunity to apply and strengthen web content development skills while learning how to implement Museum web projects at various stages; expand and deepen writing and editing skills while working with a diverse staff and changing subject matter; learn new technical skills as the new media landscape evolves; and produce web content that meet the high-quality standards of the Smithsonian Institution. The intern will become familiar with museum education practices, how museums work, and how this translates to digital web content. Candidates should have a basic proficiency in Drupal, Search Engine Optimization, AP Style and web or graphic design principles and best practices.

Job Title: Craft Education Internship 2025

Organization Name: North House Folk School

Wage/Salary: $725/mo

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, September 27, 2024 at noon CST

10 month long full-time internship conducted on-site in Grand Marais

Opportunity Summary: The intern program has had four participants for a number of years, and we are considering adding a fifth position to the program in the near future. The program will run from January 15, 2025 to November 23, 2025; a duration of 10 months. Seven vacation days are available depending on the program schedule. Four days of professional development or field time are available. The internship program offers:

  • $725/month paid living stipend
  • $3500 course credit for tuition/materials for selected courses taken as a student
  • Up to $500 for capstone project expenses
  • Housing in downtown Grand Marais, across the street from the harbor-side campus with other interns (shared living space, private bedrooms). Includes utilities and internet. 
  • Development of traditional craft skills, teaching experience, public engagement and nonprofit administrative skills. Connection to an extensive community of educators and craftspeople.
