Job Title: Summer 2021 Internships

Organization Name: National Museum of African American History and Culture
Wage/Salary: Paid

Opportunity Summary:
Internships at the National Museum of African American History and Culture offer undergraduate and graduate students, and recent graduates opportunities to work closely with professionals and scholars in the museum field. The museum provides a dynamic learning environment and access to supportive mentors that help interns reach their educational and professional goals. Interns can gain practical museum skills and program development experience in a variety of part-time and full-time positions!

The National Museum of African American History and Culture will offer available internships as online experiences to meet current health and safety guidelines set forth by the Smithsonian Institution.

Job Title: Graphic Designer Internship

What does a day look like in my role?
We get it: You need to know what you're signing up for before you apply, right? This is what you need to know: As a Graphic Designer Intern you'll be responsible for:

  • Have an immediate impact on a live software product by developing, designing, and publishing new web templates for our customers to use inside the Leadpages builder.
  • Work on a daily basis inside the Leadpages builder to craft unique, eye-catching, conversion-optimized landing page and website designs
  • Work closely with the graphic designers of the marketing team, reporting directly to the Creative Director and receiving regular feedback from peer designers.
  • Conduct competitive research of templates to develop ideas for new designs to be created and identify existing templates to refresh
  • Deliver original, high-quality content in an agile sprint environment.

Job Title: Publishing Internship--Summer 2021

Organization Name: Coffee House Press
Wage/Salary: $700 Stipend

Opportunity Summary:
An internship at Coffee House Press will introduce you to all aspects of a small literary publisher and will give you skills that can also easily transfer to larger publishing houses and other careers, both in the arts and elsewhere. Please note that internships currently take place remotely.

Job Title: Creative Intern

Organization Name: Whittier
Wage/Salary: $15/hr

Opportunity Summary:
Seeking highly motivated and creatively curious design intern that is ready to take their career to the next level (or ready to dive into their career head first). You will be working in a fast-paced, ad agency environment, with a fun team, that's passionate about what they do. Whittier is obsessed with great design, jaw dropping photography, and innovative ideas, and you should be, too. A successful candidate is capable of thinking big picture while also being incredibly detail oriented.

Although this internship is a temporary assignment (16 weeks with possible extension, 30 to 40 hours a week), it gives Whittier the opportunity to identify qualified candidates for full time employment, and to allow students to integrate their academic knowledge with work experience. As a Whittier intern, you will develop skills, and gain real world work experience in your field of study, all in a fun and creative environment.
