Dear MCAD Students:
With the recent Stay Home Executive Order from Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, we want to highly encourage everyone to be in a safe place by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 27.
Students who have not yet moved out of their apartments have three options:
- Complete your petition to stay on-campus by April 1 using the move-out the form.
- Move out of your apartment before our original deadline of April 1-though we encourage you to move by Friday, March 27 if possible; please notify Housing of your plans by filling out the form.
- If you cannot move your belongings before April 1, or do not feel comfortable returning to campus, please arrange for MCAD to store them for the rest of the semester; email Housing at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This also means that undergraduate studios need to be cleaned out by Monday, March 30 at 5:00 p.m. If students are unable to meet this deadline, they should contact Academic Services (email@example.com) immediately.
There will be limited resources available to those of you who are still on campus.
The Bistro, Help Desk, Media Center, and Library will not be available in-person after Friday, March 27. A rotating roster of employees from Public Safety, Payroll, Housing, Mail Room, and Facilities staff will continue to work on-site. Individual MCAD Senior Leaders will work on campus following a staggered schedule.
The Learning Center, mental health counseling, the Help Desk, Library, and Media Center are available virtually. The weekend van trips to the Quarry shopping mall are canceled for the rest of the semester. Facilities staff will respond to routine maintenance requests on an as-needed basis. Those requests should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org. Public Safety should be contacted for emergency requests.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your RA (cell numbers are listed on the back of each apartment door), Housing, Student Affairs, or Public Safety. Thank you for your attention to this new phase in slowing the spread of COVID-19.
All my best,
