NOTE: This message is for returning students, new students who waived the MCAD laptop program, and other users such as MFA students who do not have hardware pre-loaded with the MCAD software build. Brand new students who just received laptops through the school are already fully up-to-date and can ignore the rest of this message. Thanks!
Hello Fall 2020 Students, and welcome to a new semester at MCAD!
MCAD Technology is releasing a new version of our Apple-based software build for returning students with qualifying MCAD-provided computers. This is available for users that can and choose to stop by the Help Desk to have their computer reimaged. Appointments are preferred, but we are available for walk-ins.
However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the MCAD Help Desk wants to empower you to independently update or install some of your software without needing to visit campus. This includes the Microsoft Office and Adobe CC programs, both of which MCAD provides for free, as well as the latest version of macOS (10.15, Catalina).
Additionally, students who waived the MCAD laptop program and other users who don't get computers through the school can install these applications on their personally-owned computers using the instructions linked below.
Please visit this MCAD Self-Service Software help article for a complete guide to installing the latest versions of this software on your own.
As always, if you have questions or need any additional assistance, please contact the Help Desk at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 612-874-3666. Please feel free to follow us on Facebook or Instagram for future updates.
