Dear MCAD Community,
On Sunday, October 18, 2020 we were informed that an MCAD community member tested positive for COVID-19 on campus. We are doing all that we can to ensure this case is both isolated and contained. This person’s proactive communication, openness, and cooperation have been immensely helpful in mitigating risk to others.
As outlined in the Emergency Preparedness Plan, we are working closely with this individual and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to perform contact tracing. The process includes having this person go into isolation for ten days, identifying people who have been in close contact, and instructing close contacts to get tested and quarantine for 14 days. If you have not been notified by MCAD's contact tracing team, you are not someone who was exposed to this individual. In addition, any spaces on campus that have been used by this person have been thoroughly sanitized in accordance with our enhanced cleaning protocols.
Our collective goal remains the same: to learn, work, and live together in the safest way possible. As a reminder, all community members should be following our screening protocol as outlined in the COVID Preparedness Plan. Going forward, you will find any new information about COVID-19 cases and real-time updates at MCAD COVID-19 Cases.
Let us know if you have any COVID-related questions by emailing email@example.com. Please continue to wear a mask, practice physical-distancing, and use proper hygiene. I’m sure you join me in wishing this individual a speedy recovery.
All my best,
