On Sunday, September 15, 2024, a motor vehicle theft from the exterior Hive Parking Lot was reported to MCAD Campus Safety at 12:49 p.m. In reviewing video footage, a White 4-door car (possibly Nissan) is seen traveling East-bound (wrong way) on 26th St. at 12:12 a.m. The vehicle turns south into the alley, and then into the Hive lot, before circling the vehicle back around and driving south in the alley out of sight. One male (slight build) can be seen walking through the lot, coming from the alley, wearing a dark jacket with hood pulled up, dark jeans, and dark-colored shoes. Several other shadows could be seen periodically around a blue Hyundai Accent parked in the lot. The additional 2-3 individuals stayed in the shadows and suspect descriptions were unable to be made.
Access to the Hyundai was successful and at 12:25 a.m., the vehicle left the lot, heading south down the alley on the west side of the lot towards 27th St. Minneapolis Police were notified of the incident and responded. The incident is currently under investigation.
