Dear members of the MCAD community,
We know that many of you are concerned about safety on campus and our college’s current Title IX investigations. We also recognize the strong desire for a prompt resolution. We share your concern – nothing is more important to us than your safety.
While we cannot discuss specific Title IX cases, due to the seriousness and complexity of the allegations, we have engaged an outside firm with Title IX expertise to continue and complete these investigations. Even though the school year is ending, these investigations will continue with the same level of intensity and care until they are concluded.
Because we need to conduct these investigations thoroughly and are legally required to complete the investigations before making final determinations, it is not possible to have a resolution before commencement tomorrow. However, as one of the first steps in our Title IX process, we have taken interim actions to protect the safety and wellbeing of those involved.
We acknowledge that conversations on this topic are difficult and can be triggering. We strongly encourage you to seek help if you need it. Off-campus resources are available to everyone and are listed here. Free confidential counseling services are available to students on campus during fall and spring semesters. Information on reporting sexual harassment or assault can be found here.
We care deeply about this community and everyone in it, and we are committed to getting this right.
