It has come to our attention that some MCAD students may have recently purchased marijuana that was laced with fentanyl. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 50-100 times more potent than morphine. Unfortunately, people are often unaware that their drugs are laced with fentanyl, which can make them potentially deadly. More information about the dangers of fentanyl can be found on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.
If you have recently purchased marijuana, especially near campus, do not use it. Contact Campus Safety if you believe you have marijuana or any other drug that may be laced with fentanyl. Any student who reports possession of marijuana will not be penalized under the school’s drug policy.
The safety and well-being of our community is our top priority.
