Welcoming Galia Eibenschutz to Minnesota!

Workshops, talk, performance

All are welcome to participate in upcoming dance/drawing workshops with McKnight International Choreographer Galia Eibenschutz for a minimal cost of $5. The October 7 workshop will be at the Water Bar, which is run by 2018 McKnight Visual Artist Fellow Shanai Matteson. Any students who want to attend that Oct. 7 workshop can get a ride. If you are interested, email Kerry Morgan at kmorgan@mcad.edu.

Galia will be giving a talk at MCAD on Monday, October 14 at 7:00 p.m. that will be followed by a reception. This event at MCAD is sponsored by the MFA Program.

Performances with Minnesota-based HIJACK will take place October 16 and 17 at the Cedar Cultural Center.

See below for details.

The 2019 McKnight International Choreographer, Galia Eibenschutz, of Mexico City, is in residence in the Twin Cities until October 18. This year we partner with choreographic duo HIJACK (Kristin Van Loon & Arwen Wilder). During her residency, Eibenschutz will teach workshops, give an artist talk, participate in community events, and create a new work for HIJACK and dancers, which will premiere at The Cedar Cultural Center in mid-October.
