WELL+ 2021: MCAD EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE AND WELLBEING

WELL+, is now in it's second year at MCAD. January is the WELL+ kick off month. Below are some gentle 'warming up' up activities related to mindfulness and stress reduction. Attached you will find the full WELL+ calendar for the year. We invite you to review the calendar and set your intentions about what topics you would like to focus on this year. Take what works for you, and leave what doesn't.

What is WELL+? WELL+ is an employee experience and wellbeing program. It contains aspects of traditional wellness programs, but is not a fitness challenge. The goal is to highlight existing resources and programs that might be helpful and beneficial to you as a person and as an employee of MCAD. We hope is that you come away with a few new ideas, practices, and tools that make your life at work and at home a little bit better. This is all optional, voluntary, and low stakes - just explore what is helpful for you. Take what works, leave the rest.

WELLcome to a 2021!

Happy 2021 and WELL+come to the New Year (see what we did there?).

In a little bit you will receive a quick 'training' overview of the program for this year. Thereafter you will receive a notification via Paylocity Communities (here) on the first or second Wednesday of each month about the theme or focus for that month, as well as the featured activities and resources related to that theme. Due to COVID-19, activities will be online and on demand again this year. If you would like to opt out of WELL+ communications, you can click settings in this group and click 'Leave'.

Thank you to everyone who participated in 2020 and shared feedback through the end of year benefits survey. This helped us curate focused resources for you for 2021.

2021 MCAD WELL+ Cookbook!!!!

Last year we compiled the first ever MCAD WELL+ Cookbook, and well, it was a hit! This was in large part to the amazing recipes submitted by the MCAD community, the wonderful design from Design Works, and the beautiful images from Student Designer Anh Tran.

The last year or so, we have all likely been cooking more at home than going out. What recipes have you discovered that have brought you comfort and joy over during a year?

Submit those recipes for the 2021 MCAD WELL+ Cookbook! Please designate if this recipe is sugar free, gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, etc.

Submissions must be received by August 30th, 2021 to make it into the cookbook. Anyone who has a recipe submitted that makes it into the final handbook will receive a complimentary limited edition print copy of the 2021 MCAD WELL+ Cookbook! Everyone else will receive a digital copy!

WELL+ April: Financial Well-being

April is National Financial Literacy Month! As part of this month, we will be sharing resources and being retirement ready, budgeting, and how to reduce stress around finances.

Financial well-being is one of the hardest topics to talk about. According to the American Psychological Association (APA), the overwhelming majority (>70%) of adults report feeling stressed about money. If you are in that 70+%, know that you are not alone and there are resources that can help.

Wellness Wednesdays:

TIAA Individual Retirement Readiness Sessions: Next Wednesday (and Tuesday and Thurs) there will be individual online retirement readiness and planning sessions with TIAA Senior Financial Consultant, Paul J. Fuller, CRPC. You can sign up via the link below for an individual session on either April 13th, 14th, or 15th. Sessions will be an hour in length. Paul will be able to discuss several topics including retirement readiness, saving and planning for retirement, and other aspects of your overall financial wellbeing. Click here to register for a virtual consultation with TIAA.

NFP Retirement Planning Lunch & Learn: Bring your lunch to this virtual lunch on WELL+ Wednesday, April 21st from 12-1pm. Steven Festler and Traivis Dykema from NFP, MCAD’s new retirement plan advisors, will cover information about retirement planning basics and more. Click here to RSVP for the Lunch and Learrn, and also to submit any topics or questions you would like Steven and Traivis to address.
