Are you interested in curating your own projects, exhibitions, and events?Do
you enjoy helping others find creative new ways to express their ideas?Join
Liberal Arts teacher and FD13 Residency for the Arts director, SaraCluggish,
for a 45-minute lecture on experimental curatorial practice.
FD13 Residency for the Arts is an artist residency program that invites
international makers, of all kinds, to come to the Twin Cities, explore a new
idea, and present it live. Using this organization as a case study, wewill
discuss:
· How travel and distance feed the creative process.
· The benefits that a residency experience provides post-graduation.
· The importance of the artist-curator dialogue to drawing out ideas.
· How to work collaboratively with many different kinds of
practitioners to make your ideas happen!
At the end of the lecture, we will bejoined by FD13’s artist in residence
for the month of March, Archie Barry (b. 1990; Lives and works Melbourne,
Australia) for a preview of forthcoming events.
