All benefit-eligible employees are eligible for bereavement leave. Employees will be granted up to three working days leave of absence with pay for the purpose of attending or making arrangements in the event of a death in the immediate family (spouse, child, stepchild, parent, stepparent, sister, stepsister, brother, stepbrother, sibling of spouse, mother-in-law, father-inlaw, grandparent, step grandparent, grandchild, step grandchild). An additional two days of paid leave may be granted under certain circumstances, e.g. when the deceased relative lived in a distant location. Bereavement days do not need to be taken consecutively.
