Classrooms, Meeting Rooms, and Auditoriums can be reserved for use outside of academic classes for MCAD-related activities by any staff, instructor, or student. The Room Reservation system (Ad Astra) is a tool for staff/faculty/students to reserve classrooms, meeting spaces, and other areas. Individuals will submit an “Event Request” through the public-facing MCAD Room Reservation portal.
While Ad Astra aims to prevent room scheduling conflicts, specific space requests may be changed at any time based on the various needs of the college.
E-mail room_reservations@mcad.edu with questions about specific requests, issues, or concerns. Please include all concerned parties in the email thread.
Update: April 16, 2026: Ad Astra is now forcing a new form to be used. The major difference is that space requests are starting with creating an "Event." This is just a general term they are using that we can't change. Use the buttons at the top right of the form to advance all the way through to the final question and the confetti animation. Optional fields like description, number of attendees, and images aren't being actively used by MCAD and can be skipped.
A few notes:
- Requests must be made at least one day in advance, and the AV Suport from the Media Center requires 3-5 business days. Please contact the media center directly.
- Auditorium 150 is only bookable by Faculty and Staff during the Media Center's regular business hours, and must be request in advance 3 business days. Students looking to use Auditorium 150 must coordinate through a faculty or staff member.
- Collaborative spaces with no furniture setup, technology, or AV support needs are found on Places and Spaces under Schedules > Collaborative Spaces, and can be reserved directly there. Please see our section on Places and Spaces for further information.
