Topic Overview: Rethinking Art: Circular Design and Regenerative Practices for Climate Justice
Workshop Description:
This online workshop explores how more sustainable art practices and circular design can address climate justice. Participants will learn about the environmental impact of traditional art materials, such as acrylic paints, and discover how plant-based pigments and hyperlocal resources can offer sustainable alternatives. The session includes a discussion of research findings, a demonstration of creating plant-based pigments, and a collaborative activity where participants design their own circular art or community system. By the end, participants will leave with actionable insights and tools to integrate regenerative practices into their work and communities.
For Artists, designers, educators, and sustainability advocates interested in sustainable art practices and climate solutions. The workshop is designed to be accessible to a global audience, with techniques and ideas adaptable to diverse regions and contexts.
