Project Title: SPOONIE ACTIVISM

Take the Spoon Pledge; Be part of an engaging dialogue and activity focused on interdisciplinary learning, collaboration, and action toward climate justice.

Description:

Ophelie reflects on her course and project.

"Spoonie Activism is a guide I made in April 2024 as my final project for the class of Design for Climate Justice, taught by Teresa Bertossi. In this guide, I summarized some activities conducive to climate justice and their theoretical cost in “spoons”, the invented unit of measure representing the energy of a chronically ill or disabled person on a given day. Accessibility helps everyone; the reasoning behind this format was to make activism more accessible, and that by lowering some of the barriers some may face, we could increase participation in climate justice activism from everyone. Education, predictability, and knowing what to expect are at the forefront of this project."
