ITS Support Levels Overview

Overview

Information Technology Services (ITS) is committed to enabling MCAD through technologies and systems. ITS will continue to assist in areas outside the scope of our responsibilities as time allows and is deemed prudent. Additionally, ITS devotes approximately 15% of our development hours to new/expanded institutional initiatives. These projects are coordinated and prioritized school-wide by the VP Technology Committee.

Full 24/7 Resources

Full support includes installation, maintenance, select data management, data backups, select account management, documentation, and general troubleshooting.

24/7 resources are available around-the-clock.

Full 10/5 Resources

Full support includes installation, maintenance, select data management, data backups, select account management, documentation, and general troubleshooting.

10/5 resources are available during Business Hours: 10 hours (8am-6pm), 5 days a week (Mon-Fri). ITS remains available 24/7 to assist with escalated issues.

Full 10/5 Resources include:

  • Administrative and Financial Database Servers
  • MCAD Account Management
  • MCAD Guest Wireless Portal Server
  • Primary Active Directory Controller Server
  • Secondary Windows Infrastructure Server
  • Windows Departmental File Server
  • Windows Anti-Virus/Build/Update Server

Partial 10/5 Resources

Partial support includes installation, maintenance, select data backups, select account management, and basic training.

10/5 resources are available during Business Hours: 10 hours (8am-6pm), 5 days a week (Mon-Fri). ITS remains available 24/7 to assist with escalated issues.

Some installations are done by outside consultants. Data management, select account management, and documentation are the primary responsibility of the resource owner. Some training for these resources is provided by outside consultants and departmental workshops.

Vendor Supported Resources

ITS assists Vendor Supported Resources with minor installation, minor maintenance, select data backups, and basic troubleshooting.

Vendor Supported Resources are supported by ITS during business hours. ITS remains available 24/7 to assist with escalated issues.

Software selections are requested by resource owner with advance consultation from appropriate ITS team member to review compatibility, cost, security and on-going maintenance support needs. Some installations are done by outside consultants with ITS coordination. Data management, user management, and documentation are the responsibility of the resource owner. Training for the software is provided by outside consultants or resource owner developed workshops.
