An employee who is entitled to attend a major political party precinct caucus is permitted to take unpaid time off to attend. Ten days’ written notice is required.  Employees may take unpaid time off to attend any meeting of the state central committee or executive committee of a major political party if the employee is a member of the committee. Unpaid time off can also be granted to attend any convention of a major political party if the employee is a delegate or alternate delegate. Ten days’ written notice is required.  Employees elected to public office are permitted unpaid time off to attend meetings necessitated by the public office. An employee may use accrued vacation time for these activities. Reasonable notice must be given to an employee’s supervisor.
