RA Application Information

Information and Instructions for Applying to Be an MCAD Resident Assistant | 2024-25

RA applications must be submitted by 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20. After the application has been submitted, please sign up for an RA interview appointment using the link provided in the instructions found on the bottom of this page. The deadline to sign up for an RA interview appointment is Thursday, March 21. (Note: RA interviews take place the week of March 25).

The online recommendation form must be submitted by two references by Wednesday, March 27 (one recommendation should be from a current or past supervisor and one from a faculty member).

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Student must be enrolled in degree-seeking credits during the entire 9-month academic year. 
  • Student must have already completed/earned a minimum of 30 credits at time of application. (Credits for classes in which you are currently enrolled do not count as completed/earned.) 
  • Students must have a cumulative minimum GPA of 2.7. 
  • Students with a significant disciplinary record are ineligible for the RA position. 
  • Tuition exchange recipients are ineligible for the RA position. 
  • Applicants who are offered an RA position will be given the Kari Koskinen Manager Background Check Act consent form and information sheet. MCAD is required by state law to submit to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension the consent form and fingerprints for each RA we hire. New hires are contingent upon passing this background check. 
  • RAs for the 2024-25 academic year will need to be available and living in campus housing from Thursday, August 1, 2024 through Tuesday, May 20, 2025. 
  • RAs must be people-oriented and are chosen on their qualifications as a leader, academic record, responsibility and organization habits. We prefer that RAs have at least one year on-campus living experience (at MCAD or elsewhere). 

 

To Apply to be an MCAD Resident Assistant, Complete the 3 steps below:

 

1. Complete the Online RA Application Form: Resident Assistant - Application Form 

  • RA Application due by March 20, 2024.
  • You must be logged into your MCAD Google account to access the form.

2. Share the Online RA Recommendation Form with Two People Who Will Complete this form to Provide a Reference for You: MCAD RA Recommendation Form - 2024

  • Shareable link (copy and paste this link into email to share with your references): https://forms.gle/y7abJA9wVu8mRmDPA
  • One reference must be from a current or previous supervisor and one must be from a faculty member.
  • Ask your references to submit this form by Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

3. After Submitting Your RA Application Form, Sign Up for an Interview: RA Interview Sign Up Calendar

  • Sign up for an interview by March 21. (Interviews take place the week of March 25.)
  • You must be logged into your MCAD Google account to access the calendar.
