Safety Bulletin, 10/7/25--Attempted Motor Vehicle Theft

Campus Safety received a report of an attempted motor vehicle theft from Lot C on the afternoon of October 6, 2025. The window of a gray Kia Forte was broken, and the interior was rummaged through. Fortunately, nothing appears to have been stolen, and recent software updates to the vehicle appear to have prevented the theft.

Annual Clery Act Report

Dear Members of the MCAD Community,

Minneapolis College of Art and Design is directed to provide annual reports to the community concerning campus crime statistics and fire safety. The campus crime report discusses a variety of campus policies and procedures to enhance safety in addition to providing crime statistics for the most recent three years.

SAFETY BULLETIN--Burglary Reported 9/23/25

On September 23, 2025 at 5:31 p.m., a student reported that their unlocked vehicle in the Hive Garage had been entered sometime over the past several days. A Bluetooth speaker was reported missing.

Upon reviewing security footage, Campus Safety observed an unknown individual entering the Hive Garage via the south pedestrian door at approximately 4:29 a.m. on September 21. The individual eventually exited the area at 4:55 a.m. with a dark-colored bicycle, heading southbound down the alley. The suspect did not gain access to the lobby or any residential areas of the building.

Campus Safety Overview

Dear Students, Staff and Faculty,

As another semester at MCAD gets underway, there are a few reminders Campus Safety wants to provide for everyone’s safety.

Facility Policies and Security

As part of an urban neighborhood, Campus Safety officers patrol campus 24/7, including the interiors of academic buildings and residential facilties. Students are strongly encouraged not to walk or work alone, especially at night.
