Twin Cities Art Week Activation: Winter Gear Fundraiser and Live Screen Printing

Event:
Wednesday, October 16
Add to Calendar
4:00-7:00 p.m.

Join MCAD students, professor Piotr Szyhalski, and gallery director Keisha Williams for a unique Twin Cities Art Week activation.

In partnership with MCAD’s “Politprop: Art for the Broad Masses of the People” students, the gallery will become an active community maker space with live screenprinting and a winter gear fundraiser to support our unhoused neighbors.

Inspired by MCAD’s unique positionality in our community, this event highlights the role of artist-activists who engage in their political and cultural landscape and make the events of contemporary life visible and tangible.

Are you interested in donating? Please bring clean and in good condition gloves/mittens, hats, scarves, socks, and hand/foot warmers. Items can be dropped in donation bin in the Main Gallery or brought to the activation on Wednesday evening.

Throughout the fall, the gallery will spotlight the art and research undertaken by both full- and part-time faculty in the 2024 MCAD Faculty Biennial. Some fifty faculty members in the college’s Arts Entrepreneurship, Design, Fine Arts, Media Arts, and Liberal Arts Departments will be participating in an exhibition in the Main and Concourse Galleries and presenting papers, film screenings, performances, and readings as part of a Faculty Forum Series in Auditorium 140.
