2024 Van Derlip Awards
Attention August and December 2023 and May 2024 Graduates:
Announcing the 2024 Van Derlip Awards
In 1923, with income from an endowment fund established by Ethel Morrison Van Derlip, MCAD established the Ethel Morrison Van Derlip Traveling Scholarship.
This year Van Derlip Awards in the amount of $2,500 each will be awarded to a graduating senior in the following departments:
- Design
- Fine Arts
- Media Arts
- Creative Entrepreneurship
- MFA in Visual Studies
- MA in Sustainable Design
- MA in Graphic and Web Design
Recipients will have exhibited outstanding creative ability. Among the criteria considered will be: originality of ideas, imaginative problem-solving, and skillful execution. It is our hope that the recipients of these awards will use the scholarships for travel and study that will benefit their careers as professional artists and designers.
Those eligible are students who graduated in August or December 2023 and seniors who will graduate Spring 2024.
SUBMISSION DEADLINES:
Undergraduate, MASD, MAGWD:
Submit your application by 1:00 pm CDT on Wednesday, April 24 via email to vanderlip@mcad.edu.
NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE AFTER THIS DEADLINE.
MFA: MFA Students are automatically considered.
Your MFA Thesis Exhibition will serve as your submission.
Announcement of winners will be at the Commencement Ceremony on May 11, 2024.
