Howdy!
As of April 1st, Studio Applications are now open for studio spaces for the Fall 2026/Spring 2027 semester. This application is for the 2026-2027 school year.
THIS IS NOT THE SUMMER STUDIO!
To be eligible for a studio for Academic Year 2026-2027 you MUST meet ALL of the following criteria:
- You MUST have a cumulative of 30 credits or more (sophomore status or higher).
- You MUST be registered for a minimum of 12 credits for each semester (full time status).
- You MUST have a declared major.
Studio priority is given to Juniors and Seniors as well as to those who complete the form by the May 13th deadline. If you meet all of these requirements and would like to apply for a studio space, please fill out this form. Applications submitted after May 13th, during the summer, or before the Fall semester starts do not guarantee a studio placement.
Please remember that studio space is very limited on campus. Applying for a studio does not guarantee you will be assigned a studio. If you do not apply for a studio by May 13th, you will not be granted a studio space.
Notification of Studio Assignment:
- Should you be assigned a studio, you will be emailed within the first two weeks of Fall Semester, no earlier. You are able to keep this studio assignment through the full Academic Year 2026-2027, as long as you continue to meet the eligibility requirements, and adhere to all Studio Guidelines and studio rules within the Student Handbook.
Waitlist Protocol:
- Those who are not assigned a studio will be placed on a waiting list, and notified via email no earlier than the 3rd week of the semester. There are a lot more students than studios and if you are added to the waitlist there is no guarantee you will get a studio. Work spaces in the 224 Studios are available to all students and can be used as needed. Additionally, there are lockers throughout the building which are available on a first come, first serve basis for all students. To reserve a locker please stop by the ESS office in room 207. If you are unable to stop by the office please email exhibition_studio_services@mcad.edu.
