On Saturday, November 9, 2024, shortly before 8:30 p.m., two students were walking west on 25th Street, and were between Stevens Ave. and 1st St.
Three dark-skinned males wearing ski masks and dark clothing exited a Black Kia Soul and approached the students--two of them holding handguns. The males patted down and took various personal items from the two students, and both students were slapped across the face by the males at least once during the course of the robbery. Both students are currently safe.

Dear MCAD Community,
I am writing to address a deeply troubling issue that has surfaced across college campuses nationwide. Recently, there have been reports of hateful and demeaning text messages sent to African-American students. These messages are not only reprehensible, but completely antithetical to the values we uphold at MCAD.
