Job Title: Art Direction, Brand Summer Internship

Opportunity Summary: 

The PHOENIX Internship Program is a 10-week, paid program that offers rising Junior and Senior undergraduates and graduate students the opportunity to work with and learn from experienced professionals while gaining exposure to a multi-brand retail company. The internship program provides hands-on experience in an area of interest and cross-functional collaboration while developing valuable professional skills. The Art Direction, Brand Summer Internship position will support our Express brand. The Summer 2025 Internship Program occurs from June 2nd to August 8th. This internship is located at our Columbus, Ohio Headquarters.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with Art Directors to gain on-set experience with our e-commerce and editorial sets
  • Work in Capture One software to learn the process of making photo edits
  • Concept and coordinate still life assets in line with brand standards
  • Organize photo and video assets
  • Maintain image inspiration boards and files, creates art direction that is relevant to vehicles (social, Ecommerce, marketing, etc )
  • Monitor trends in editorial and e-commerce photography, e-commerce, social media, and fashion to help influence creative
  • Collaborate with all cross functional partners, inclusive of, photography, styling, production, video, social and content strategy, and design

Job Title: Visual Brand/Graphic Design Intern

Organization Name: Active Minds

Wage/Salary: $1250/mo

Opportunity Summary: Our internships are geared towards current college students and recent college graduates. As a small nonprofit, Active Minds relies on the help of our interns tremendously as they work directly on important initiatives and projects as well as assist staff on a variety of administrative tasks. Interns have the opportunity to do substantive work, gain experience in the nonprofit sector, and help change the culture around mental health. All Spring 2025 internships will be remote with an anticipated start date of February 3rd, 2025 and end date of April 30th, 2025. We expect interns to work a minimum of 20 hours a week, set a consistent work schedule between 9:00am and 5:00pm EST Monday - Friday, and commit to staying on board for the entire semester. 

Qualifications:
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop required; all others a bonus)
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude who enjoys working proactively and thinking creatively
  • Accustomed to working on multiple projects with different deadlines simultaneously
  • Comfortable taking both individual initiative and working collaboratively
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interest in engaging with diverse team members and perspectives
  • Stickler for details and quality

Organization Name: Diversity in Design Collaborative (DID)

Opportunity Summary: The Diversity in Design (DID) Collaborative was initiated in June 2021 to foster systemic change by increasing diversity and improving conditions for Black creatives across the design industry. DID has come together with the understanding that impactful change requires a shared value set, a collaborative approach, and aligned action plans that are measurable and directed to outcomes of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the field.

The program cultivates development and continuous learning for interns by providing access to:

  • Paid design internships at a DID member company
  • Virtual Network-building with aspiring designers
  • Mentorship from a design professional
  • Portfolio reviews by industry leaders
  • A community that supports diverse designers across a multitude of design industries

Job Title: Public History & Digital Content Internship

Organization Name: Twin Cities PBS

Wage/Salary: $18/hr

Opportunity Summary: We believe no story should be left untold. Come learn at TPT with the award-winning Minnesota Experience team, the creators of Lost Twin Cities and Jim Crow of the North, in a unique internship experience at the intersection of public history, digital storytelling and marketing. 

This position works approximately 20 hours per week in a hybrid setting (both onsite and remote work) and runs from late fall 2024 to June 2025. The qualified candidate will have a passion for elements of our work including media storytelling, narratives, diverse history, and research. The qualified candidates will have a passion for elements of our work including media storytelling, narratives, diverse history, and research. Compelling candidates will also have a desire to work in areas such as marketing/communications, public history, or public media. Candidates must be currently enrolled in an educational program with a concentration on history, marketing, mass communications, digital storytelling, journalism, or other job-related fields.
