Job Title: Visual Design Intern

Opportunity Summary: Dan Dee International is a global company that specializes in plush toys, Children’s Furnishings and Home Décor for both everyday and seasonal goods in the mass market. The Visual Design Intern will be energetic and passionate about design tasks. We are seeking a constantly curious individual with an innate desire for greatness and a soft spot for soft toys. The dynamic individual who joins our team must possess a knowledge of 2D and 3D design and be well-versed in how to build brand equity from the ground up through both visual and tangible channels. They will possess strong written and verbal skills, and most importantly, have a keen eye for design. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in the development and execution of promotional and marketing materials, including all sales collateral, product presentations and planograms (POG) while maintaining the integrity of our brand
  • Assist in creating marketing collateral and graphics for tradeshows, showrooms and other in-person events as needed
  • Aid in product photography generation for presentation and web asset needs
  • Support creative for packaging and digital asset creation
  • Coordinate with both internal and external partners to ensure successful packaging, photography, and/or videography campaigns/launches 
  • Coordinate with multiple teams to achieve growth goals and seamless launches
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to share learnings or new ideas and implement improvements to processes and/or graphic files as opportunities arise
  • Assist Assistant Marketing Director and Marketing Director in creative services tasks as needed
  • Maintain work-in-progress files
  • Manage traffic of multiple projects of varying complexity
  • Other duties maybe assigned from time to time

Job Title: Grant Writing Internship - Spring 2025

Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of systems to increase the capacity of the grants team to advance the work of PPL.
  • Work directly in Raiser’s Edge (a widely used contact management database used at PPL) to assist with grants data entry.
  • Organize grant writing resources and electronic files.
  • Support grants team in proposal submissions, such as editing proposals, organizing attachments, and reviewing grant packages.
  • Develop and submit grant requests and reports with support, and draft grant acknowledgment letters when needed.
  • Conduct research on grant makers and prospective grantors.
  • Participate in staff meetings, team meetings, and planning meetings with program staff, including conversations to advance race equity.
  • Collaborate with staff on the Development & External Affairs team and across the organization to develop grant applications and reports.
  • Additional duties as assigned to support the Development & External Affairs team and further the PPL mission.

Job Title: Installation Support Technician

Organization Name: The Walker Art Center

Wage/Salary: $24.28/hr

Opportunity Summary: The Installation Support Technician is a part-time role providing staff support for the Collections and Exhibition Management Department.  Individuals in this role will report to the Lead Preparator.  This position is a minimum of 21 hours per week and can flex up to 35 hours or more during exhibition installation.  Project assignments will focus on supporting activities related to the preparation, installation and deinstallation of exhibitions, management of the Walker’s permanent collection, the maintenance and cleaning of sculptural artworks in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, Walker hillside, and Terraces (including the surrounding grounds). This is an entry-level position, working alongside members of the Collection and Exhibitions Management team.  Individuals in this role will be exposed to a variety of professional museum practices; acquiring and honing the skills essential to museum professionals who work hands-on with contemporary art.

Essential Experience & Responsibilities (include but may not be limited to):
  • Art Handling & Installation
  • Gallery Preparation (ex: Wall Repair, Sanding, Painting)
  • Exhibition Fabrication (ex: Pedestals, Risers, Mounts)
  • Exhibition Framing *preferred but not required
  • Exhibition Crating (ex: Construction, Demolition, Packing, and Unpacking)
  • Loading and unloading of trucks
  • Working outdoors for prolonged periods in a variety of weather conditions
  • Knowledge and skilled use of hand tools, power tools, moving equipment and mechanical lifts
  • Ability to lift 50lbs unassisted
  • Basic carpentry and fabrication skills
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow written instructions, drawings, and floorplans
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic knowledge of sculptural materials
  • 2 years of art handling & installation in a museum or gallery setting.
  • Fabrication experience, knowledge of materials, techniques, and construction processes.

Job Title: Institutional Advancement Work Study (MUST BE WORK STUDY ELIGIBLE)

Organization Name: Minneapolis College of Art and Design

Wage/Salary: $15.57/hr

Opportunity Summary: MCAD's Institutional Advancement office is seeking a work-study eligible student with excellent organization and communication abilities to assist with departmental initiatives and operations. This role will entail research and outreach support in addition to general office duties such as filing, scanning, data entry, assisting with event preparations, and other duties as assigned. Since this position requires access to donor and student database records, a high level of confidentiality is required. This is an on-campus position, with some opportunities for remote work.
