Job Title: Immersive Design Intern

Wage/Salary: $35-50/hr
Opportunity Summary: Punchcut is looking for an Immersive Design Intern to join our team. Immersive designers create experiences that go beyond the flat screen. Designers employ multi-disciplinary skills and emerging media to envision and realize rich multi-dimensional and multi-sensory experiences. You should have a strong understanding of user-centered design and be comfortable working independently and in collaboration with other designers. Applicants are currently enrolled in an academic program in a related field and are passionate about design that goes beyond the flat screen using motion, high fidelity prototyping, sound + haptics, or space to create innovative solutions to mobile, wearable, spatial, and emerging interfaces. As a Punchcut intern, you'll play an active role on client projects, getting real-world, hands-on experience. Each day you'll learn from insightful and experienced co-workers as valued members of a fast-paced and fun creative team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce design artifacts such as motion studies, 3D models, sound + haptic guidance, and/or logic prototypes
- Go beyond wireframes and mockups to show designs through higher-fidelity media that gives your team a feel of how the end user will engage with an experience
- Design and prototype experiences for emerging interfaces such as IoT, XR, and Automotive
- Help with the creation, evaluation, and execution of new tools, workflows, and frameworks
- Share your knowledge in new workflows and tools with other project teams and disciplines
- Create conceptual diagrams, use cases, and storyboards
- Sketch user scenarios and user interfaces to help conceptualize user experiences
- Participate on multi-disciplinary teams to solve design challenges
- Assist other members of the immersive design, interaction design, and visual design teams as needed
- Experience with digital accessibility thinking is a plus
