Working alongside the digital communications associate, the intern will be responsible for planning, producing, and editing documentary-style videos with impactful storytelling for web and social media platforms.
- Create 4+ short-form documentary-style videos focusing on current and former board members, their advocacy, and connection to the ACLU of Minnesota. The preferred timeline is over an approximately 4-month period with videos formatted for both web, social media platforms, and event spaces. The overall timeline will be determined by the intern in collaboration with the communications department.
- Plan preproduction by outlining story arcs in written format for discussion with the communications team and digital associate.
- Conduct on-site and off-site video shoots with current and former board members. (Equipment will be provided).
- Edit videos in Adobe Premiere.
- Assist communications department with additional tasks as needed depending on availability.
- Participate in department meetings as needed.
- Minimum of ten hours weekly with flexible scheduling for 4 months during Spring, Summer, or Fall semesters. The timeline is flexible for both students and non-students.

Job Title: Graphic Design Intern

As a Graphic Design Intern, you’ll advance our life-saving work by performing the following job duties:
- Collaborate with the in-house team to produce graphics and design layouts to support all visual communications.
- Actively engage in providing design solutions for print ads, flyers, e-mails, website, social media and other media as necessary.
- Ensure successful use of brand guidelines across all visual communications, including marketing collateral, PowerPoints, fact sheets, reports, and other deliverables.

Job Title: Traveling Exhibits Props and Costumes Intern
Organization Name: Minnesota Children's Museum
Wage/Salary: $16/hr
Opportunity Summary: The Traveling Exhibits Props and Costume Intern assists the traveling exhibit team in constructing, maintaining, cleaning, and repairing the many costumes and props used by children in our traveling exhibit portfolio. Each of our traveling exhibits include costumes for dramatic play, as well as thousands of props that need repair and maintenance. Intern duties include but are not limited to building replacement props, small hand sewing repairs, and other prop maintenance tasks. Projects vary depending on the project workflow for our department, but examples of past projects include producing large numbers of backup duplicates of costumes as well as cutting, sanding, and finishing wooden pieces for games and activities in our many traveling exhibits. Specific assignments will vary based on the intern’s skill and experience level. This “behind-the-scenes” position rarely, but occasionally, interacts with our visitors directly.
The exact duties and projects will be determined by mutual agreement of the intern and museum staff. All duties will be carried out with the direction and supervision of the Traveling Exhibits department.
- Repair, clean, and maintain existing costumes and props
- Pattern and stitch new costumes and props (depending on workflow and skill level)
- Assist with fabrication of exhibit props (depending on workflow and skill level)
- Take inventory
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge and experience with costume design, patterning and stitching, including hand sewing.
- Knowledge or experience with fabrication and power tools (drills, table saw, jig saw, etc.).
- Ability to lift 50lbs
