Job Title: Summer 2027 Home Product Design Intern

Opportunity Summary: As a Design Intern (Home), you will support all aspects of product creation for Kohl’s private and exclusive label brands. You will gain a strong understanding of each brand’s aesthetic and customer while developing the foundational design skills necessary in the textile and hard home industries. You will be placed within a specific category or brand but have the opportunity to gain exposure to multiple areas.
What You’ll Do:
Assist in research and trends specific to category and brand
Assist in PLM tasks, including vendor communication, submitting comments and style uploads
Create presentations using Miro to articulate design concepts
Present research and designs through color, mood boards, collages, and Adobe Illustrator sketches or Photoshop CADs
Conduct quality and color reviews for product samples and communicate feedback or approvals to vendor partners
Collaborate with Merchant, Production, Art and Trend teams to brainstorm and execute styles aligning with brand vision and strategy

We are hiring an Industrial Design Spring Co-op to join our Global Design team from January - April 2027 (possibility for extension, subject to change). In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience contributing to real-world projects throughout the product development process, from research and concept exploration to prototyping and refinement.
Minimum Qualifications:
Reliable onsite vehicle transportation required
Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Furniture Design, or a related field.
Actively enrolled in a degree-seeking program throughout the duration of the internship.
Demonstrating experience with concept development, ideation, and form exploration.
Demonstrating proficiency in 3D modeling software and Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.
Providing a portfolio showcasing design process and project work.
Desired Skills and Experience:

Experience conducting research and translating insights into compelling design solutions.
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and prototyping capabilities.
