Sophomores! Interested in Study Abroad in Spring '26?

Applications are open and due April 11

Hello Sophomores!

Are you interested in studying abroad in Spring 2026? Off-campus study gives you an opportunity to explore your interests outside your major, gain independence and personal growth, and have an adventure away from MCAD!

This year, the application deadline is moving up from September to April in order to give nominated students more time to plan financially and logistically for their semester abroad. The Off-Campus Study Committee is accepting applications for the following off-campus programs

  • Singapore
  • Austria
  • England
  • Germany
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Netherlands
  • Japan

Requirements:

  • You need a 3.0 cumulative GPA to apply.
  • You need to be at 60 credits (junior status) by spring '26. You can apply if you're going to be a first OR second-semester junior.
  • You'll earn 15 studio elective credits, so make sure you have the room in your degree audit!
  • You must have a passport with at least a year of validity, or proof of passport application.

Details:

  • There are no additional tuition costs- you can use your financial aid & scholarships as if you were staying on-campus.
  • Interviews with the Off Campus Committee will be held in mid April.
  • Don't worry too much about which majors can go to which programs. You're going to earn elective credits, so this is your chance to try something new!
  • Check out our Off-Campus INSTAGRAM account to see photos and videos from each program!

Application, directions, and letter of recommendation forms (you will need 2) can be found on the Off-Campus Study Intranet page. Completed Google folders are due to akurialamillo@mcad.edu by Friday, April 11 at 5:00 p.m.

Have questions or need more info?? Email Alicia Kuri Alamillo at akuritalamillo@mcad.edu to set up a meeting in Student Affairs.
