Update on ICE Presence and Impact

Dear Students,

We have experienced an unimaginable week here in Minneapolis, amid sharply escalated  Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity.

Among other very upsetting events, Minneapolis resident Renee Good was killed by an ICE officer within two miles of MCAD. We learned, also, the devastating news that one of our employees was detained by ICE off campus. We are doing all we can to support this individual and their family.

We are here for you. We are looking for a time early in the semester to gather in person to  listen, learn, and respond to student questions and concerns about immigration enforcement. We will share that time and date soon as possible.

Our policy regarding immigration inquiries and enforcement on campus can be found here. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Pamela Hoffmann at phoffmann@mcad.edu. For additional support, I encourage you to visit our Student Counseling and Wellness Center resource page, or reach out to studentcounseling@mcad.edu.

Sincerely,

Gwen
