Want to study off-campus this spring?

Applications are open and due Thursday, September 12

Hello Juniors!

Are you interested in studying off-campus in spring '25? Off-campus study gives you an opportunity to explore your interests outside your major, gain independence and personal growth, and have an adventure away from MCAD! The Off-Campus Study Committee is accepting applications for the following off-campus programs:

  • Austria
  • England
  • Germany
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Netherlands
  • Japan
  • Singapore
  • AICAD Exchange - you will apply directly to your host school via the AICAD Exchange portal.

Requirements:

  • You need a 3.0 cumulative GPA to apply for study abroad programs, and 2.0 for AICAD Exchange.
  • You need to be at 60 credits (junior status) by spring '25. You can apply if you're going to be a first OR second-semester junior in the spring.
  • You'll earn 15 studio elective credits, so make sure you have the room in your degree audit!
  • For study abroad programs, you must have a passport valid through at least September 2026, or proof of passport application.

Details:

  • There are no additional tuition costs- you can use your aid & scholarships the same as if you were on-campus.
  • Don't worry too much about which majors can go to which programs. You're going to earn elective credits, so this is your chance to try something new!
  • Check out ourOff-Campus INSTAGRAM account to see photos and videos from each program!
  • Interviews with the Off Campus Committee will be held the last two weeks of September.
  • Stop by the Off-Campus table at the Club Fair next week to talk to the Off-Campus Ambassadors and get your questions answered! Club Fair details will be posted separately.

Application, directions, and letter of recommendation forms (you will need 2) can be found on the Off-Campus Study Intranet page. Completed Google folders are due to akurialamillo@mcad.edu by Thursday, September 12th at 5:00pm. The AICAD Exchange deadline is October 1st.

Have questions or need more info? Email akuritalamillo@mcad.edu to set up a meeting with Alicia Kuri Alamillo in Student Affairs. Not a Junior yet? Come see me in the Spring!
