Want to Study in Germany this Summer?

Apply for a WorkArt internship!

The WorkArt Fellowship Program is a great option to consider if you want to study abroad but don't want to spend an entire semester overseas. Administered through the University of Minnesota's Center for German and European studies, WorkArt offers curatorial internships to both undergraduate and graduate students within Germany's extensive network of galleries and art nonprofits (Kunstvereine). Please visit the WorkArt website for more detailed program information.

Why WorkART is amazing:

  • You will be offered a four to eight week internship between May and August.
  • Housing is provided and partially paid for
  • Fellows receive a $1,000 stipend to offset expenses
  • You can earn up to 3 internship credits
  • Make connections - establish social and professional networks abroad
  • Gain invaluable work experience in art and arts management - great for your resume!
  • Before or after your internship, you have the opportunity to travel around Europe

Requirements:

  • 20 years old by application deadline
  • US citizenship
  • Must have a passport by application deadline - valid until at least February 2026
  • You are eligible to participate the summer after you graduate

To receive academic credit for a WorkArt internship, you must contact Career Development (careers@mcad.edu) to ensure the opportunity is properly approved and registered. Students cannot receive credit for unregistered internships. Please plan accordingly!

The application deadline for summer 2025 is Friday, February 14 at 4:00 p.m. You may apply online here. If you have additional questions, please contact Anna Dolezal at dolez076@umn.edu or email Alicia Kuri Alamillo at akurialamillo@mcad.edu
