Welcome Kate Goodman to the MCAD Student Counseling and Wellness Office!

We hope you join us in giving a warm welcome to Kate Goodman.  Kate has joined our counseling staff as a Lead Mental Health Counselor and will be providing counseling and support to MCAD students.

 

Kate Goodman, MSW, LICSW, LADC (she/her) is a Clinical Social Worker and Alcohol and Drug Counselor, former Secondary Language Arts teacher and long-time Minneapolis resident. Kate has previously supported mental health in a variety of clinical and school settings including FAIR Arts High School and is passionate about supporting the learning process by reducing disruptive mental health symptoms. Kate often uses curiosity, humor, and a modality called Accelerated Resolution Therapy to reduce nervous system stress or trauma responses. Kate is passionate about supporting students, challenging negative beliefs and overcoming barriers to self exploration and expression. Kate currently Chairs the MN Board of Social Work and is summer adjunct faculty at University of St. Thomas in the Master of Social Work program.
