Dear MCAD community,
After a national search, please join me in welcoming Dr. Kerry St. Laurent as MCAD’s new Institutional Research Analyst on September 21st, 2026.
Kerry is an artist, educator, and systems thinker who works at the intersection of data and design. She holds an EdD in Higher and Postsecondary Education and an MFA in Painting, combining more than 18 years of studio and online teaching with over a decade of institutional research focused on visual arts programs in higher education. Her work includes building frameworks for institutional problem-solving, mapping curriculum and workflow processes, and analyzing data to identify structural gaps and inform continuous improvement.
Kerry also maintains an active studio practice in video and 2D mixed-media work exploring nature and impermanence. Her work has been exhibited locally and nationally, and she has held artist residencies at Hot Springs and Isle Royale National Parks. She lives in the Asparagus Capital of the World (Hadley, Massachusetts), where she feels most at home on the local trail system with her two dogs.
Thank you to all community members who participated in the search process and especially those who served on the search committee, including Brian Braden, Controller; Jim Howley, Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs; Melissa Huybrecht, Vice President of Enrollment Management; and River Gordon, Registrar.
All of my best,
Melissa
