MCAD Campus Safety became aware of an aggravated assault at 12:20 a.m. this morning, 7/23/25, near 25th St./Clinton Ave S. Minneapolis Police (MPD) 5th Precinct officers responded to reports of a shooting. Officers arrived and found a man with an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
Preliminary information indicates the man was inside of a vehicle off-campus with another individual when a man approached the vehicle and pointed a gun at them. When they attempted to drive away, shots were fired into the vehicle, striking the victim. The shooter fled the scene before officers arrived and the vehicle proceeded to the area of 25th St./Clinton Ave S.
MPD officers secured the scene and it was processed by Minneapolis Forensic Scientists. The incident remains under investigation. If you have any information about this crime, please reach out to the Minneapolis Police Department at 612-673-5705.

2. If a stranger does approach, maintain a distance and be observant; if they are in a vehicle, get the license plate number.
