Title: Technical Director
Pay: $20-35/hr
Overview: This is a rare opportunity to help relaunch an important Minneapolis performing arts venue and shape its technical foundation for years to come. The Technical Director (TD) is a hands-on leader responsible for the overall technical operations of the Cowles Center, including lighting, sound, stage, and related production systems. The role requires both strategic planning and direct technical execution. The TD works collaboratively with venue leadership, visiting artists, and rental clients to advance and execute performances and events at the highest professional standard. They oversee production planning, supervise part-time technical staff scaled to production needs, ensure compliance with safety standards, and maintain the facility’s technical infrastructure. The TD directly supports productions as needed, including lighting and sound operation, system setup, and on-site troubleshooting.

Title: Artistic Associate

Overview: Interference Arts is seeking a part time Artistic Associate to assist with upcoming arts project development and technical production work. The Artistic Associate will be helping with ongoing development and production related to the Legacy Dream Space interactive multimedia exhibition, and with upcoming performances and presentations. The Artistic Associate will also be assisting with website maintenance and social media activities. The ideal candidate will be a versatile and creative individual, with a varied background, diverse interests, and a solid foundation in multimedia arts development and production in both performance and exhibition circumstances.

Title: Head Stagehand

Overview: The Head Stagehand is responsible for technical support of shows mounted by or for the Guthrie Theater, coordinating with other departments in the theater and outside vendors and presenters, providing leadership of crews, facilitating the smooth running of shows, and maintaining the backstage and onstage areas, sets and equipment. The position requires participation at load-ins, technical rehearsals, previews and performances. Title: Recreation Program Assistant - Spark! Puppeteers
Pay: $20.92/hr
Overview: The Spark! Mobile puppet team is an important part of community outreach, offering original live performances all summer long. The team performs original scripts based on relevant weekly themes with a variety of fun characters. We visit 15 parks a weeks and reach hundreds of community members! This team also teaches 3 weeks of Spark! Puppet Camp in the summer for youth ages 6 - 11. The Spark! Team works Monday - Friday, June through August during the day and on select weeknights. Some weekend opportunities may also be available. Work up to 30 hours per week!

Title: Shape Designer

Overview: We are seeking a Shape Designer – Foil Balloon Product Development to help bring imaginative balloon concepts to life by transforming flat artwork into compelling, manufacturable 3D forms. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Surface Designers to ensure surface art and shape design work seamlessly together—adjusting artwork or structural elements when needed to achieve the best visual and physical outcome. As a Shape Designer, you will develop custom foil balloon shapes for licensed properties, seasonal programs, and everyday celebrations. You will work hands‑on with Engineering and Manufacturing partners to ensure each design meets performance and testing requirements and can be produced with consistency and quality. This role requires strong spatial thinking, an understanding of how 2D artwork translates into 3D structures, and an enthusiasm for playful consumer products.
This position is ideal for a designer who loves playful products, understands dimensional form, and enjoys seeing ideas transformed into physical products on store shelves.
