Attention December ‘25, May and August ‘26 Graduates:
Announcing the 2026 Van Derlip Awards
In 1923, with income from an endowment fund established by Ethel Morrison Van Derlip, MCAD established the Ethel Morrison Van Derlip Traveling Scholarship.
This year Van Derlip Awards in the amount of $2,500 each will be awarded in the following departments;
Master of Arts in Creative Leadership (MACL)
Master of Arts in Graphic and Web Design (MAGWD)
Master of Arts in Sustainable Design (MASD)
Recipients will have exhibited outstanding creative ability. Among the criteria considered will be: originality of ideas, imaginative problem-solving, and skillful execution. It is our hope that the recipients of these awards will use the scholarships for travel and study that will benefit their careers as professional artists and designers.
Those eligible are students who graduated in December 2025, May 2026, and students who will graduate in August of 2026.
SUBMISSION DEADLINES:
Submit your application by 1:00 pm CDT on Wednesday, July 1st via email to vanderlip@mcad.edu.
NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE AFTER THIS DEADLINE.
Announcement of winners will be at the Commencement Ceremony on August 7th, 2026.
