Waste, Recycling, and Composting

recycle

Minneapolis College of Art and Design actively participates in an extensive waste and recycling program. On campus, nearly half of all disposed material is diverted to compost or recycling. Academic and residental builidings have frequent access to single sort recycling and composting.  Composting is available in the cafeteria, which allows for all organics, composting wares, and napkins to be diverted from waste stream.  Additionally, paper towel composting is available in restroom facilities. Most recently, students living on campus can compost at their residences as well through an opt-in program.

This makes recycling and waste reduction convenient for everyone, and with a dedicated cafeteria and custodial staff, MCAD continues to implement initiatives that help reduce waste and conserve resources.
