Held every year the weekend before Thanksgiving, the MCAD Art Sale showcases nearly 7,000 pieces of art from more than 400 participating alumni and students. This is not a gallery show: the Art Sale welcomes 4,000 art buyers and collectors from the greater Twin Cities community to purchase art from emerging artists and designers every year.
Eligible participants include current juniors, seniors, MFA, and MA students based on earned credits, as well as all MCAD alumni, with space limited and first come first served. Students who are not eligible, including international students, freshmen, and sophomores, are encouraged to apply for Art Sale worker positions to gain valuable experience and earn extra income.
The MCAD Art Sale is here for you: eligble MCAD students and alumni. MCAD staff will work to help sell whatever you are working on, regardless of your major, field of study, or profession. Paintings, illustrations, movies, t-shirts or branded clothing items, hats, buttons, stickers, notecards—just ask! Email artsale@mcad.edu
The MCAD Art Sale supports the professional development of MCAD students and graduates through a public sale of original student and alumni artwork. The sale directly benefits the MCAD students of today, while any scholarship contributions support the MCAD students of tomorrow.
2025 registration opens Wednesday, September 10, and is required to participate, with inventory due by November 7 and artwork drop-off November 9–10. Mark your calendars now and don’t miss this chance to share your work and connect with the creative community!
