All First Year and Undeclared Students:
Registration is April 16th!
It’s pretty exciting…
For all First Year and Undeclared Students:
You will sign up for a group session based on your major/intended major. You must attend an advising session prior to Registration Day (April 16th) in order to register for Fall, 2025.
Here’s what your group advising session will look like:
- We will find your transcripts and degree audits.
- We will be briefly reminded how to read and utilize your degree audit; it’s a great tool after all!
- We will discuss the ideal course load for your spring semester, based on your intended/current major.
- We will prepare an individualized plan for your Fall semester.
- We will prepare for the registration process.

How to Prepare for Your Advising Session
- Locate and Review your Degree Audit. Your degree audit is a magical “living” document that outlines your current degree progress and lists which courses you have completed, are completing, and will need to complete in the future for graduation, your GPA and so much more... - Review Sample Degree Audits for the Majors You are Most Interested in. You can find sample degree audits for all of the majors offered at MCAD on the MCAD Intranet, Academic Advising Resources page. These sample degree audits list all of the required courses for each major and can help you decide on which courses to explore for future semesters.
- Review the Course Schedule When it Becomes Available. (Friday, March 28th!) ←Plan your schedule! You can find the course schedule on MyMCAD under the Registration tab (under Important Advising and Registration Info). Here you will be able to see the courses offered for the coming semester, and check for prerequisites. You will also find an Advising and Registration Guide in this section. This guide will have the answers to many of your questions. For assistance on how to navigate the course schedule, check out the Student Tutorial Page on MyMCAD!
- Bring your laptop to your appointment!

- Please sign up for an advising session based on your current, or intended major.
- From the link below, choose a date and time that works for you.
- If you are unable to find a time that works for you within your intended major, please sign up for any session that works for you.
- If you are undecided on which direction to go, just choose one that you are leaning towards and I can help you with the rest.
- Please sign up for ONLY ONE advising session and be sure not to edit someone else’s appointment time.
- Don’t forget to bring your laptop to your appointment!
