Advising is such a high… don’t miss it!
How to Prepare for Your Advising Session
- Sign up for a GROUP ADVISING SESSION! If you haven’t already, choose a date and time that works for you in the links below. Be sure to only sign up for one appointment slot and do not edit someone else’s appointment slot. Bring your laptop to your appointment!
MEDIA ARTS
(ANIMATION, PHOTO, FILM, ART + TECHNOLOGY)
DESIGN
(COMICS, GRAPHIC DESIGN, ILLUSTRATION, FURNITURE / PRODUCT DESIGN)
FINE ARTS
(DRAWING / PAINTING, PRINT PAPER BOOK, SCULPTURE)
- Locate and Review your Degree Audit. You can find this document under the Academic Advising tab on the MyMCAD portal under “Degree Progress.” Select the Degree Audit PDF. This document outlines your current degree progress and lists which courses you have completed, are completing, or will need to complete in the future.
- Review Sample Degree Audits for the Majors You are Most Interested in. You can find sample degree audits for all of the majors offered at MCAD on the MCAD Intranet, Academic Advising Resources page. These sample degree audits list all of the required courses for each major and can help you decide on which courses to explore for future semesters.
- Review the Course Schedule When it Becomes Available. (Friday, April 3rd!) You can find the course schedule on the MyMCAD portal under the Registration tab (under Important Advising and Registration Info). Here you will be able to see the courses offered for the coming semester, and check for prerequisites. You will also find an Advising and Registration Guide in this section. This guide will have the answers to many of your questions! For assistance on how to navigate the course schedule, click here and scroll to the bottom!
