Opportunity Summary: Art & Design Departments: Cover and Interior Design Designing books—covers, jackets, and interiors—is a collaborative effort. The staff reviews the book and meets with the editor and marketing department to create a visual-packaging direction and oversee its implementation to both represent the book's essence and attract the target audience. Some responsibilities may include creating covers and interior designs for each book, setting up hardcover and paperback mechanicals, Image research, type research, Illustrator research and creating social media assets.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DETAILS: Penguin Random House offers a 10-week PAID, REMOTE internship opportunity available in our adult, children’s, and corporate divisions. Interns are exposed to the publishing process and our business through panels, networking events, and employee speaker series! Summer interns work for 28 hours per week and are paid $21/hour. What you study does not matter! We are looking for your desire to work with books, your drive to learn and your curiosity for the publishing industry.
Program Dates: June 8th, 2026 – August 13th, 2026
REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY
- Must be ready to work full-time on or before June 2027 (You do not need to be enrolled in college or have a degree to apply to our internship program).
- Able to work 28 hours/week throughout the program
- Available and commit to the program working June 8th, 2026 – August 13th, 2026
- Must reside in the U.S. for the duration of the internship program
- Must be over the age of 18

Opportunity Summary: As part of the Marketing and Communications team, the Digital Media intern will support the Social Media and Digital Marketing team in developing content across platforms, with a particular focus on short and long form video content capturing, editing, and producing. They will work with the rest of the team to create engaging, shareable content to help increase awareness of Active Minds programming. This role will provide interns with the opportunity to be creative, learn how nonprofits manage and develop their social media, collaborate with various Active Minds staffers to learn more about mental health advocacy, and interact with thousands of enthusiastic audience members on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
- Passion and experience working in social media with significant video editing experience
- Experience with Canva (or similar graphic design software)
- Strong long- and short-form video editing, storytelling, and communications skills
