Dear MCAD Community,
Today is an unbearably sad day for Minneapolis, with the horrific mass shooting this morning at Annunciation Catholic School that killed two children and wounded 17 others, including 14 children.
There are simply no words for this kind of community pain. It comes amid a 24-hour cycle of gun violence that, through several events in Minneapolis, has resulted in multiple deaths and serious injuries.
Students: if you need additional support due to these traumatic events, please visit our Student Counseling and Wellness Center resource page.
Staff and Faculty: you can access support through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provided by New York Life. Reach out by phone 1-800-344-9752 or on the website guidanceresources.com (Web ID code NYLGBS).
As you read in today’s email, our Campus Safety team, in collaboration with college leadership, works hard to keep this campus secure. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Pamela Hoffmann at phoffmann@mcad.edu.
As we all cope with the reality of these events, I encourage us to be there for each other.
Sincerely,
Gwen
