On September 23, 2025 at 5:31 p.m., a student reported that their unlocked vehicle in the Hive Garage had been entered sometime over the past several days. A Bluetooth speaker was reported missing.
Upon reviewing security footage, Campus Safety observed an unknown individual entering the Hive Garage via the south pedestrian door at approximately 4:29 a.m. on September 21. The individual eventually exited the area at 4:55 a.m. with a dark-colored bicycle, heading southbound down the alley. The suspect did not gain access to the lobby or any residential areas of the building.
Facilities has been notified and is working to reinforce the pedestrian door to prevent future unauthorized access.
Suspect Description:
- Dark-skinned male, unknown height/weight
- Wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, hi-visibility safety vest, white capri-length pants, and black and white sneakers with black socks
- Carrying a black waist bag, a brown shoulder bag, and a gray backpack
Safety Reminders:
- Always lock your vehicle and avoid leaving valuables inside. Even seemingly small items can attract theft.
- Report suspicious behavior immediately to Campus Safety at (612) 874-3555. Your awareness helps keep the community safe.
- Use well-lit, populated routes when walking to and from parking areas, especially during early morning or late evening hours.
- If you see a door or entry point that appears damaged or unsecured, report it to Campus Safety right away.
