EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES (Part-time- and full-time, temporary and ongoing)

Organization: Goldstein Museum of Design
Title: Museum Collections Photographer
Pay: $25/hr
Overview: The Goldstein Museum of Design is hiring a motivated, detailed oriented photographer to work on the collection digitization project! This 50% part-time grant-funded position is fully on-site in McNeal Hall at the St. Paul Campus at the University of Minnesota. The photographer is responsible for the efficient production of high-quality digital images of museum collection objects. The photographer also completes all image post-production, manages image meta data, and uploads images to the collections management database (see online version here ). In partnership with a 50% part-time preparator (art handler), the photographer reports to the curator. Scheduled hours are determined in collaboration with the curator and preparator, with the aim of 1-2 full days overlap each week. This IMLS grant-funded project has a scheduled end-date of May 31, 2027.

Title: Luminary Arts Center Front of House Associate
Pay: $18/hr 
Overview: The Front of House Associate (FOH Associate) is a part-time position providing excellent customer service to all Luminary Arts Center patrons by creating a welcoming environment, serving concessions, handling money (as cash, credit cards, but no checks), supervising patrons within the theater and assisting with parking lot facilitation on a rotating basis. FOH Associates will possess excellent customer service ability, and knowledge of current Luminary Arts Center performances and concessions offerings, and the ability to adapt and stay levelheaded during intermission and in case of any emergencies.

Title: Design & Vendor Coordinator / Custom Apparel Decorator
Pay: $18-22/hr
Overview: This is a hybrid role blending customer-facing coordination with creative production support. You’ll handle vendor communication, order management, and digital product edits while also assisting with embroidery, sublimation, and heat press projects. What You’ll Do:

  • Work directly with vendors on pricing, product options, and delivery timelines.
  • Assist customers in finalizing orders and customization details.
  • Create digital mockups and product visuals with logos/artwork.
  • Operate embroidery machines, heat presses, and support apparel decoration processes.
  • Help maintain smooth shop operations and timely order fulfillment.
  • Support general shop and order fulfillment tasks.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Organization: Penguin Random House LLC
Title: 2026 Summer Remote Internship: Art and Design
Pay: $21/hr
Overview: Penguin Random House offers a 10-week PAID, REMOTE internship opportunity available in our adult, children’s, and corporate divisions. Interns are exposed to the publishing process and our business through panels, networking events, and employee speaker series! What you study does not matter!  We are looking for your desire to work with books, your drive to learn and your curiosity for the publishing industry (The deadline to apply is October 6th, 2025 by 11:59 pm ET). Requirements and eligibility:

  • Must be ready to work full-time on or before June 2027 (You do not need to be enrolled in college or have a degree to apply to our internship program).
  • Able to work 28 hours/week throughout the program
  • Available and commit to the program working June 8th, 2026 – August 13th, 2026
  • Must reside in the U.S. for the duration of the internship program
  • Must be over the age of 18

Title: Art Consultancy and Interior Design Intern

Overview: This is a part-time on-site role in Minneapolis, MN for an Art Consultancy and Interior Design Intern. The intern will assist with day-to-day tasks including researching art trends and artists, supporting art consulting and interior design projects, engaging in sales activities, and working with clients, vendors, and business colleagues. The intern will work closely under the guidance and mentorship of the business principle to deliver high-quality art design solutions to clients.

Title: Simon & Schuster's Spring 2026 Publishing Internship Program
Pay: $16/hr
Overview: The Simon & Schuster Spring 2026 Internship Program will offer students an unmatched, behind-the-scenes look and learning experience within the world of book publishing. Interns will be placed within a variety of areas including editorial, marketing, publicity, and production and in those departments, they will be able to explore all aspects of the industry. While guided by a mentor, they will experience "a day in the life" of an entry level assistant. Interns will be included in all department and company meetings and will be able to contribute to ongoing projects.

  • No prior experience in publishing is required but a love of books and storytelling is a must.
  • This is a paid program and will run for 8 weeks (two days a week for a total of 16 hours/week) beginning in February. 
  • To be eligible for the program students MUST be able to commit to working two full days a week.
  • Applicants MUST be a full time student in either an undergraduate or graduate program.

Overview: This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the process of designing Children’s Books—from early incarnation through what you see on a bookshelf and all the behind-the-scenes work in between! The intern will participate in various meetings to learn about the publishing business as well as working closely with our Art Directors and Designers to support the development and production of titles across our list—from early concept to final print-ready files.
